Pool resurfacing in Valley Center

For a new interior finish on an existing plaster pool. Inland heat and hard well water change the job. This guide does not publish a price as a quote.

This is an independent referral guide. It connects homeowners with independent providers and may receive compensation. It is not a licensed contractor and it does not do the work.

The finish is only as good as the prep and the fill water

Valley Center is an unincorporated inland community. Summers are hot, many houses are on private wells, and pool water can be hard. A white plaster pool that etched or stained is a different conversation from a pebble finish you want for looks.

Resurfacing means draining, preparing the old surface, and applying a new interior. It is not a weekly service visit and it is not a new pool shell. Ramona, Bonsall, and Rancho Santa Fe are close enough to share the trade and different enough to need their own notes.

Plaster

A smooth cement interior. Common, and sensitive to cure time and fill water.

Quartz

A plaster with finer aggregate. Still a cementitious finish.

Pebble

Exposed aggregate. Different look, different prep, still not a price on this site.

The water

Drain and refill are part of the scope. Hard well water and a hot fill day both matter.

Resurfacing work this guide covers

Plaster resurfacing

A new smooth interior over a prepared shell. The usual finish, and the one most sensitive to startup water.

Pebble and quartz finishes

Quartz is a finer aggregate in the plaster. Pebble is an exposed stone finish. Both still need a sound shell.

Drain, refill, and water

Emptying the pool, the water you put back, and the first weeks of chemistry are part of the job.

A sensible order

1

Name the finish you have

Stains, hollow spots, and rough plaster are the usual reasons to resurface.

2

Ask about water

Where the old water goes, and whether the fill water is a well.

3

Call or text

The form opens a text. This site does not store it and does not quote a price.

4

Hire on a written scope

Prep, finish type, tile and coping if included, and start up chemistry.

Questions people ask first

Is this a pool plaster company?

No. Valley Center Pool Guide is an independent referral site. It may be paid for an introduction. It does not plaster pools.

Do you publish resurfacing prices?

No. Supplier ads elsewhere show wide ranges. Those are not quotes from this guide and they are not a local average. Ask each provider for a written scope.

Does inland heat matter?

Yes. Hot weather can make a new cement finish cure faster. The provider should say how they schedule the job and the fill, not promise a result this website cannot see.

Can I drain the pool to the street?

Do not assume that. Chlorinated water in a storm drain or a creek is a problem. Ask how the water will be dechlorinated, hauled, or otherwise handled before the job starts.

Describe the pool

Say the community, the finish you have, and whether the fill water is a well.
